Children’s Stories from India - Live Performances

Children’s Stories from India has been performed in theaters, corporate offices, classrooms, gyms, libraries, backyards, and in the basements of people’s homes. Our program includes popular and entertaining stories from mythology, history and folktales. The stories help children learn about Indian culture, wildlife, food and history. They also teach young children moral lessons. Stories for older children include riddles and jokes. I tell the stories, while Greg Herriges plays music on guitar and bouzouki (Greek lute). From 2007-2019, we performed all over Minnesota, and at cultural centers such as the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Minnesota History Center, and at Asia Society, New York.

Children’s Stories from India - Live Performances

We’ve performed for audiences of fewer than 5 people to more than 150. We’ve performed in theaters, corporate offices, classrooms, gyms, libraries, backyards, and in the basements of people’s homes.

This recording is an excerpt from our performance at the library in Park Rapids, MN in 2017. Our tour of the libraries in northern Minnesota that year was made possible in partnership with COMPAS, which received a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board’s Arts and Legacy Fund.
